Construction Aggregate Processing Equipment

Construction aggregate processing is relatively complicated. There are many stages and operations involved, including mineral extraction from the earth, loading, unloading, conveying, crushing, screening etc. Some aggregate application requires specific production process. These include wet and dry fine milling or grinding, air classification, drying, calcining, mixing, and bagging. The latter group of operations is not generally associated with the construction aggregate industry but can be conducted on the same raw materials used to produce aggregate.

Two examples are processing of limestone and sandstone. These two kinds of materials can be used as construction materials and may be processed further for other uses at the same location. Limestone is a common source of construction aggregate, but it can be further milled and classified to produce agricultural limestone. Sandstone can be processed into construction sand and also can be wet or dry milled, dried, and air classified into industrial sand.

Aggregate Crushing Process

Over half of the world’s aggregate is used for road and highway building each year. About 20 thousand tonnes aggregate are consumed for one kilometer highway. Since so much aggregate materials is used every day, high advance technology and crushing plants should be applied in aggregate crushing process, in order to improve the efficiency of utilization. Aggregate crushing process involves various stages, the mined stone ore gravels are firstly delivered to processing plant for classification or size reduction. In these processes, there are different types of aggregate crushing plants and grinding mills including vibrating feeder and screen, belt conveyer, jaw crusher, impact crusher, cone crusher, ball mill, high pressure mill, ultrafine mill.
